Digital Design and Fabrication Workshop in Izmir

•Took place at the Izmir University of Economics April 27 – May 8 2014. •56 3-d year students divided into four teams designed and built small shelters capable of accommodating at least two people. •The building typology was studied through examples spanning the globe (pavilion/gazebo/belvedere/kiosk/folly/çardak). •The students had to conceptualize it through sketches and physical modeling, analyze through digital parametric modeling, detail and construct in full scale, testing, refining and sometimes rethinking their assumptions along the way. •Co-taught with Nick Germann: designer, maker, artist.
